“On October 10, 2024, Tony was diagnosed with Adult T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). We met with his oncologist the next day in Boston at Dana Farber and they immediately admitted him to Brigham. Testing and procedures are underway to determine the staging of his cancer and what treatment will look like. At this time, we are anticipating a pretty aggressive round of chemotherapy to start things off which will require Tony to be hospitalized for several weeks. We are unsure what future rounds will look like (potential for bone marrow and stem cell transplants in addition to chemo) but know that his overall treatment will last two years if all goes smoothly.

Tony is the definition of a servant leader. He puts the needs of others above his own always and is the first to lend a helping hand. He has spent almost 30 years as a firefighter and currently serves as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Town of Northbridge. Since he was a little boy, he always knew he wanted to be a Northbridge firefighter.

Tony's dedication to the Town is not only seen in his work but also in his volunteerism. He has coached multiple sports for his kids' teams over the years and we joke that he is known more around Town for being "Coach Tony" than he is for being on NFD. He is a history buff in general, but Northbridge History is his favorite - Tony the Townie. He has such pride is his community and goes above and beyond to honor the history and continue making it a great place to be.

Kameron (11) and Makenzie (9) have an incredible role model in Tony... and they certainly inherited his sense of humor! As you can imagine, this diagnosis has rocked our entire family and we will need all the support we can get. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this situation a little more bearable.
